What are digital photos?AncientFaces allows photos to be displayed and shared with others throughout the world. Distant relatives and future generations can see the faces of their ancestors for the first time because of the connection that the Internet provides families. Before your photos can be stored and shared online, they must be in digital format. It is important to do a good job when digitizing your photos. You want to give an accurate portrait of your ancestors by preserving the photo in high quality. The first step in making digital photos is to scan them. To do this, you need a scanner and the accompanying software. Just follow the instructions provided with your software to make a digital copy of your photo. The second step is to touch up and repair your photo. Check the clarity, alignment on the page, and the size of the photo. You don't want your photo to be too large, so make sure that it is under 150k. When ready to save your photo you will be offered a variety of file types. Chose either .jpg (jpeg) or .gif format. These are the best file types for viewing on the Internet. For more information on digital photos and the scanning process visit www.google.com and do a search for "digital photos". |
