Submitting photos
When you are ready to share your photos, click the 'Submit' button located on the drop dow menu on any page on AncientFaces. You will be asked if you are a Registered User or if you would like to proceed without Signing In. Anyone can submit a photo, but you must be a registered user in order to edit your photo in the future.First, chose the section under which you would like to add your photo. Are you submitting a Family photo, Military photo, Mystery photo, or document? You may add your photo to up to 2 sections and a special collection. Then add your photo by clicking on "browse".
Second, edit your photo. You may crop it, rotate it, lighten or darken it, sharpen or blur it. Click on "done" when you are finished.
Third, add information about your photo. Remember, you want to be exact in your description. There are sections for place, date, people in the photo, and descriptive information. Try to give the approximate date the photo was taken and add the names of the individuals with their dates of birth, if possible.
Note: Submit your photo under one surname and only once on AncientFaces. The AncientFaces Search is updated every 24 hours and includes the surnames and keywords in the description of the photo.
Once you have completed the submission, your photo will be added immediately to the section(s) and category of your choice. You can locate your photo by browsing through the section and category you have chosen or by using the AncientFaces search. Allow up to 24 hours before your photo will be available through the search.
