Obituary

My mother was a pleasant, quiet, kind, loving though strict and loved to watch rugby and loved to sing. They were 12 children of which she was the eldest of the younger 6 children. One of her chores as a child was to polish her father's shoes and loved him to bits. Her father, Christiaan Van Moerkerken died on his way to work when a truck knocked him over on his bicycle. She was 12 at the time and couldn't sleep that night and the minute the police knocked on the door to inform my grandmother of his death my grandmother knew my mother had a premonition. He worked on the mines. She married my father Gerrit Coenraad Frederick Stoltz in 1947 at the age of 21 in Benoni, Gauteng, South Africa. My father was 32.
