    Clifford Jay traveled on the Empress of Ireland with his mother and older siblings as 3rd class. The family was traveling to England visiting a relative *since Clifford was born in Canada and has never been to England*. Empress of Ireland collided with a Norwegian liner in the middle of a fog at 2:00 AM and sank in only 14 minutes. 3rd class passengers who felt the collision were trapped below the flooded decks. Clifford perished with his mother and 4 older siblings. None of their bodies were found.
