(Dora) Elizabeth Alsobrook Watkins

Taken while family was visiting Dr. Joseph Jubil Stallings, a cousin, for 3 years en route from Alabama to Bowie, Texas. The Stallings, Lindsay and Alsobrook families moved from GA to AL to LA about 1874 and settled in Bowie in 1878.

Someone sent me a note about Christopher Haynes of Halifax CO, NC, who married Nancy Alsobrook b ca 1763 Halifax CO. ONe of their children, Nancy, moved to Hawkins CO, TN.

One of the oldest Alsobrooks I have is Samuel Jr., who died in Hallifax Co., NC in 1766. He was born in Surrey Co., Virginia. His father, Samuel Alsobrooke, Sr., was born abt. 1665 in South Moulton, Devonshire, England, and died in Surrey Co. Virginia abt. 1696. Please let me know if you have anything else on this family. I heard once that they came in as indentured servants, but have not checked on it. Lucia
