Frank William McCann, 74, of 16 Elm St., died unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 23, 1982, at the Kennebec Valley Medical Center, Augusta Division. He was born Nov. 24, 1907, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., the son of William and Helen (Cummings) McCann. He graduated from the University of Maine at Orono in 1930 as a civil engineer, where was he was president of his class. He came to Augusta in 1964, where he worked for the State Parks and Recreation Department and State Planning Board for 10 years, retiring in 1974. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary (Lazeau) McCann of Augusta; a son, Michael of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Coper of Canoga Park, Calif., and Mrs. Frances Savage of Everett, Mass.; two grandchildren and one cousin. Friends may call at the Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, 7-8 p.m. Monday. A memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
