7 Memories, Stories & Photos about George

A Day By The [White] River #1
A Day By The [White] River #1
The picture was captioned on the back, "A Day By The River." I presume it was the White River. The two boys sitting in the front row are unknown. The elderly man behind the boys is George Fields. The man beside the boys is Asa Neal. Next to him is Madeline Neal. In the last row are Clyde Neal, Rose (Carr) Neal, Roy Neal, Beulah White who became Mrs. Roy Neal, Marie? Fields, Gladys Fields, and Ellen? Fields, whom I presume are George Fields's daughters.

I would appreciate your letting me know if you can better identify the Fields family members in this picture and provide their birthdates. Thank you.

A Day By The [White] River #2
A Day By The [White] River #2
Those whom I can identify are as follows: In the lower right hand corner is Madeline Neal. The adults are Beulah White who would become Roy Neal's wife; John Edwin Carr, Roy's half brother; and Rose (Carr) Neal, their mother, on the right, behind Madeline. George Fields is the elderly gentleman stooping down in front of the tree.

Does anyone know the name of the lady standing to the left of the tree, and her birthdate? I presume she is one of George Fields's daughters.

H. C. Fields, Jemima (Chapman), Son Geo. & Family of Lawrence Co, Indiana
John Lynch sent me the names of the spouses of those in this picture, which he got from Jesse Fields. I got the names of the spouses of the children not in the picture from a chart I was given. In the back row are Henry Clay Fields; his son George holding his daughter, Syvia Marie, who would marry
1)Lloyd Brough and 2)Leland Burton; and Henry's wife Jemima (Chapman). In the middle row is George's wife Stella (Bass) holding Jesse E., who would marry Betty Harrison. In the front row are some of George & Stella's other children: Addie, who would marry Russell Darnell; Lawrence, who would marry Juanetta aka Juanita Brough; Gladys, who would marry Knoffel Busick; and Ellen, who would marry Reath A. Sheeks, Homer's son. George Fields & Stella (Bass) had other children as well: Susie M., who married Lynn Taton; Howard A., who married Wilma May; and Georgia E., who married 1) Joe Routh and 2) Alfred Slaughter.

New Bride Meets Some Of Her Husband's Relatives
New Bride Meets Some Of Her Husband's Relatives
The new bride meets her husband's relatives. The groom, John Edwin Carr, probably took this picture. On the left is his step-father, Asa Neal; then Carl Williams, Bertha's husband; Bertha (Sheeks) Williams; the young man resembles Carl Williams, so I am assuming he is his younger brother; Erma (Horvath) Carr, the bride; Rose (Carr) Neal, Erma's mother-in-law; .... Bass, the daughter of Stella (Bass) Fields, next to her, and George Fields, behind Stella; another George Fields, the widower of Mary (Sheeks); and Halbert Sheeks on the right.
I know none of the children except Madeline Neal, who is shading her eyes, and is in front of Erma Carr.
