Hilding Gerald Anderbery is the son of Anton Erick (Jonsson) Anderbery (1877-1951) and Hilma Cornelia Ekberg (1888-1963). He had siblings Florence Linnea Victoria Anderbery (1908-1956), Veda Viola Evangeline Anderbery (1910-1955), Vernon Lawarence Anderbery (1911-1913), Lorraine Eudora Anderbery (1914-1992), Verna Marian Josephine Anderbery (1916-1974), and Helen Hilma Christine Anderbery (1917-1974). At the age of 28, on October 16, 1940, he registered for the draft in Wakefield, Dixon, Nebraska, USA. On May 10, 1947 he married Myrtle Marie Morey (1924–1972) in Sioux City, Woodbury, Iowa, United States. The couple had four children together and later divorced on January 10, 1960 in Phoenix, AZ. Hilding Anderbery passed away on July 18, 1960 in Chandler, Maricopa, Arizona, USA.
