Picture is of Rev. Jame C. Bass b. Jan 24, 1832? in Chatham County N.C. He led a notable career as a traveling preacher. He preached until the time of his death.
His first wife was Dorothy L. Morgan m. Chatham County in 1865. He was a civil war veteran serving in the Confederate Forces in S.C. 3rd regiment Company K. He is burried in Monte Vista Cemetery in Johnson City, TN.beside his grandson Carmon White who was killed at a young age by a school bus.He was also the first preacher of the Lone Oak Christian Church in Johnson City, TN. Elizabeth Bass married Jacob Gupton father of Nancy that married Calvin Morgan in Tn.
Elizabeth and Jacob were married in 1805 in Franklin Cty, NC

This is a copy of the Marriage bond between James C. Bass and Dorothy Morgan, both of Chatham County, N.C. Although it is very hard to read James and Dorothy were married on 27 June 1865 in Pittsboro N.C. James' parents are unknow at present, but Dorothy's parents were Charles Morgan and Charlotte (?). James and Dorothy had 8 children. James' line as I have it at present can be seen at:
