She was born to Philip Ruebel and Magdalena Meyers, and was an only child. Magdalena married Freer Anthony Carroll and had 3 children together: Oliver Philip Carroll, Grace Inez Carroll Weissenbuehler, and George Orson Carroll. They had Charles Samuel Carroll with an unlisted spouse. She died on March 10, 1949 in Spencer, Clay County, Iowa at 85 years of age.
