Phouvong “Phou” Sinthavong, age 60, of Frankford, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Phou was born in Vientiene, Laos and came to the United States as a Political Refugee in 1980. He was a Live Haul truck driver for Mountaire in Selbyville for 17 years, retiring in September 2013 due to illness. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and target shooting and was an avid musician. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Phou was devoted to the Buddhist Religion. He is survived by his loving wife and companion of 13 years, Khem Xayapheth; his children, Jimmy Sinthavong of Frankford, Stacie (Joseph Smith) Basinger of Millsboro, Laura Sinthavong of Millsboro and Amy (Timothy) White of Pittsville, MD; a step-son, Kenny Passwaters of Laurel; step-daughters, Manila Xayapheth of Millsboro and Salykja Xayapheth of Frankford; nine grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher Street in Frankford, where the funeral service will be at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26th.
