Reza was born in Tehran, Iran in 1949. He graduated with high honors in metallurgy from Sharif University in Tehran. From there, he attended the imperial College of London with a full scholarship Provided personally by the Shah of Iran. Reza attended the imperial College of London as a masters and PhD student in the subject of metallurgy. He graduated with his PhD in 1976 at the young age of 26. From there, he had offers to go to top aeronautical companies around the world, but he chose to come back to Iran to work and develop the STEM opportunities in his home country. After the revolution of 1979 in Iran, Reza moved to the United States and took a job with his PhD advisor in pleasanton, Ca . Reza lived in Pleasanton California where he became established from 1985 until the end of his life. Throughout his professional career,Reza made major contributions to the subject of Metallurgy and particularly, to the electron microscopy industry. Some of his nearly impossible images of Aluminum alloys, still circulate in the electronic microscopy industry today And his patents and research works are still studied today as well. Another major contribution to the subject of metallurgy, was his ability to translate an English metallurgy book used in english academia, to the Farsi language, and to have it be read and studied by students in Iran. Apart from his contributions to science and technology, Reza was a dedicated family man and loving father of two sons and a devoted husband as well. Reza’s two sons still reside in the San Francisco Bay area, and have come together to build a company which is now established as one of the prominent and premier environmental engineeing companies in the San Francisco Bay area. Reza will always be remembered as a kind, honest , and class act not only in his professional career, but among his family and friends as well.
