Asa Neal (23 Sep 1877-10 April 1937)
Asa Neal was born in Lawrence County, Indiana, the son of Alexander, born 30 Aug 1844, & Sarah Ellen (Mann or Manning) Neal. He married Rose (Carr) 2 Sep 1900 in the same county. His obituary named his survivors as his wife; one son Roy; one daughter Mrs. Kenneth Tanksley; one step-son, Edwin Carr of South Bend; one sister, Mrs. Leva Walker of Greenville, Ohio; one brother Jesse Neal of Piggott, Arkansas, and seven grandchildren. Two sons, Albert and Clyde, preceded him in death. "Mr. Neal was highly respected in his home community. He was formerly
employed at the Lehigh plant in Mitchell, but had followed farming for the past few years." He was a member of the Wesley Chapel and is buried at the Sheeks cemetery.
