Billy Barty on Drums
This is a Vaudeville entertainer named Billy Barty. I am pretty sure he must have performed with Hanlon & Clark.

I would like to know more about him, his family, and his act.

Billy Barty was 3’ 9” tall and began show business at the age of three. He spent his teenage years in vaudeville touring in a musical act and later went on to appear in television shows, radio and films. He started two organizations - the Little People of America and the Billy Barty Foundation - to support those of short stature. Original: Billy Barty on Drums

I am a genealogy nut researching family in mainly the KY Area. My recent project is researching the life and times of the my great grand parents, Hanlon & Clark, who were Vaudeville, USO entertainers.
My hope was to get some clues by posting the pictures here, and maybe find a family member or two to share them with. :) Thanks for your help!

Am of predominantly Scot-Irish heritage. Looking for info on Brown family of Pope County AR; Gaston family of NC; Douglas family of Canada and Scotland; Main family of Canada and Scotland. My paternal great grandfather was Samuel Houston Brown, lived around Hector, Russellville areas of AR. Paternal grandmother's family were Gastons of NC. Maternal great grands met and married in Canada, came to USA by covered wagon to Colorado. Lived in Cripple Creek and Steamboat Springs areas before coming to Maywood, CA. Would truly appreciate any info that could be passed to me regarding them. Maternal great grandmother was Jessie E. Douglas, married to ggfather, John Thomas Main. Also interested in the Hobbs family of Oklahoma, that great grandfather took part in the run on the Cherokee Strip. Settled around Tonkawa, Pond Creek.

I studied art and history. I worked for the Forest Service as an exhibit designer in CA for 8 years and then moved to DC as national head of still photography for ten years. I finished my government career as a curator in the rare books section of the National Agricultural Library. In 1985 I created laser discs containing thousands of historical photos. I retired there in 1989 and became a consultant on government contracts. We moved to Layton, Utah with my wife Kathie's job in 1992. I retired again, but did some technical writing, and part time jobs. Now, I'm an armed security guard. My Hauser family research is going fairly well, but ironically my one mystery Hauser is my grandfather Clyde Hauser who I recently found out was a security guard. The mystery is his disappearance in 1914. He went to work one day and never was seen again. He left nine children. And reportedly was not the sort to leave. I have many problems on m mother's side. My Grandfather was George Ides Neeley. I know almost nothing about him. He may have been born March 3, maybe 1890-1893. He and my grandmother Mary Emily (Emma) Hardman married in 1910-1911. She was born in Letcher, SD August 1893 of Daniel David Hardman and Sarah Ann Martin. They also lived in Mitchel, SD. My mother, Irene Mae Neeley Hauser was born in Martin, TN June 5, 1911. The records were lost in a fire at the Martin, TN courthouse. I'm not sure how or why they moved to TN, but they eventually moved to CA. Mom and I both grew up in Alhambra, CA.

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth. So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her. For more information about what we're building see About AncientFaces. My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
