Canadian Captain Robert "Bob" Grant was a casualty of World War 2 when he was killed at age 27 in 1944. The only photo community member Beth had of Captain "Bob" Grant was that found in an old yellowed newspaper, which she shared on AncientFaces. Shortly after sharing, the son of Capt. Grant sent Beth a better photo which she replaced on AncientFaces, shown here.

Within a few months, not only did Beth receive a better copy of the photo, but she also connected with new family - her aunt who was Captain Grant's wife, Francis, and his son Bob Grant - bringing to a close decades of searching.

Beth said "Thank You, AncientFaces. My long lost Aunt is now 86 years old and her son and I are talking by phone and e-mails."

We sent Canadian Maple Leaves we had pressed and dried to France with our good friends, Beth and Don and Leanne Aultman. They found your grave from our directions in France and placed flowers on your grave and then crumbled and spread the Maple Leaves on your grave. Always remembered
by the families and descendants of H.P. Marshall, Alberta - Canada.

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth. So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her. For more information about what we're building see About AncientFaces. For information on the folks who build and support the community see Daniel - Founder & Creator.
My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
