Civil War Veteran Stephen Gillespie- Lawrence County, Alabama

This is a photo of Stephen Gillespie from Lawrence County Alabama who served in 35th Alabama Regiment in Company C in the Civil War. He was a corporal.  He was married to Sarah Moore. He was the son of James R. Gillespie and Lucy Johnson Gillespie of Lawrence County Alabmam who served in the War of 1812. Jame's Grandfather was William Gillespie who was a revolutionary war veteran in VA. William is buried in Holston College cemetery.
