Col. J. J. Ross, Farm worker shacks
These were the shacks in which farm workers lived on the farm of Col. J. J. Ross. The African-American workers picked berries on the farm. The interior of the shacks consisted of a flooring of straw, a few bags, and absence of light and air. This was taken in Spring - can you imagine them in the winter?
