Dad on Kodiak Island
During the Korean War, There was a danger that the USSR would attack the USA across the Bering Strait. The US Navy was stationed there as a first line of defense. After serving in WW2, Dad re-enlisted to serve his country again in the Korean War. Here he is on Kodiak Island Alaska. It must be summer because there is grass growing.

My Dad, Clayton E. White was the ship's photographer on the USS Dade in WW2. He also drove amphibious vehicles and had other duties as well. I grew up looking at his picture of the Battles of Coral Sea, Leyte Gulf, Okinawa, and of China and Occupied Japan. These are some of my favorites.
