in Elmhurst, Illinois United States of America
Berk Toeppen Dana Bauchwitz was an amazing person at York High School in Elmhurst, Illinois. He was a people magnet and seemed to magically form a group around himself that became known as "The Baucho Group." The group was not a clique, but was open to anyone who liked to party, and enjoyed fun girls. It was a magical time for those of us who lived it. Dana went on after school to create a number of successful businesses. He seemed most proud of his non-political, personal friendship with the late President Ronald Reagan. Somehow Dana's magnetic personality led to relaxing evenings at the White House and Camp David discussing matters unrelated to politics. I suppose all of us have need of a friend that is outside our everyday lives. But, to imagine being a personal friend of the President of the United States is truly amazing to me. I think President Reagan was a lucky guy!
