Print shows Edmund Burke in fools dress receiving lashes on his bare back as he runs a gauntlet of his peers which also includes Justice holding a sword, and Liberty, with staff topped with a liberty cap, who has turned her back on Burke and stands with J.F.X. Whyte, an old prisoner from the Bastille who carries a flag with scenes of the French revolution.
