Don Jackson, a senior at Iowa State College in 1942.

Don is seen here delivering the news on the College radio station, WOI. He won honorable mention in a nationwide contest sponsored by Dodd, Meade and Company for a book he wrote and which they published.

His brother was killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor on December7, 1941. (Just a few months before this photo was taken.) He grew up on a farm in Iowa and worked his way through college.
