Ebenezer Morgans (Oct. 20, 1848 -- Aug. 6, 1934): "Eb" Morgans at his farm in McDonald Co., Missouri. He was over 80 years old at the time this photo was taken.

Ebenezer Morgans was a farmer. He was born in Indiana, and moved with his family to McDonald County, Missouri in 1866. He settled in the Bethpage community and lived there all his life. He had a farm about a mile from the Owsley Union Cemetery, on Rt. 5, Stella, Missouri, at the time of his death. In the 1880 census, he was living in the Elk Horn township.

He died in the Cardwell Memorial hospital after an illness of about a year. The Downey – Woodard – Mooney Funeral Home, of Anderson, Missouri, directed the service. He and his wife Sarah Ann are buried in the Owsley Union Cemetery.

TRANSCRIPTION OF EBENEZER'S OBITUARY:

Ebenezer Morgans was born in Decatur County, Indiana, on October 20, 1848 and departed this life August 6, 1934 at the age of 85 years, 9 months, and 16 days. He moved to McDonald County, Missouri, in 1866 where he has been a resident for 68 years. He was married to Sarah Ann Cochran on February 22, 1874. Three sons were born to this union – Leland, Bertie, and Leslie. His wife and son Bertie preceeded him in death. Surviving are his two sons Leland Morgans of Stuttgart, Arkansas, and Leslie Morgans of Bethpage; one sister, Mrs Samantha Howard of Collinsville, Oklahoma; two brothers – Nathaniel Morgans of Collinsville Oklahoma, and Alonzo Morgans of northern Missouri, besides other relatives and friends. He was converted early in life, united with the Church of Christ and was faithful to the end.
