Elizabeth Melissa (Carl) Murray, Wife of James Ellison Murray
Elizabeth Melissa Carl was born in Meigs Co, Ohio on 6 Jan 1856; her twin brother Ames did not survive. Elizabeth was the daughter of Wilson Carl and Elizabeth (Swickard), who had 16 children in all. She married James Ellison Murray on 22 April 1877 in Meigs Co, Ohio. They had six children, Lelia, born in Minnesota, who married Arlie C. Coon; George, born in Minnesota, who married Floy Dyke; Clara, born in Nebraska, who married Charles Dearing; Sarah Elizabeth aka Sadie, born in Nebraska, who married John Myatt Seiber; and twin boys born in Nebraska, namely James Ellsworth, who married Joanna Todd, and John Ellison Murray, Jr. who died either in infancy or in early childhood. James and Elizabeth also moved their family to Colorado and Idaho. Elizabeth, who died 4 June 1918 and her son James Ellsworth, who died 18 Nov 1918, are both buried in the Buhl Cemetery in Buhl, Twin Falls Co, Idaho whereas James Ellison Murray, Sr. died in the Old Soldiers Home in Sawtelle near Los Angeles, California.
