This photo was found in my grandmother's collection. I don't know who this man is just that on the back of the photo it says to Ruth Love Fred.

I have no idea who this is. It is possible that this man may be my grandfather since he is unknown. Does anyone recognize where this photo may have been taken? I believe it is in Nova Scotia, Canada, possibly Halifax, or Sydney. The uniform I believe that this man is wearing is that of the Canadian Navy. Does anyone know this for sure? Photo was probably taken between 1940-1945. Maybe this man was on leave??...Any help with this would be greatly apprectiated. There is more to this story..Thank-you...
