George & Amanda (Mann) Gray

George Washington Gray & Amanda (Mann) Gray: This is a photograph of a picture hanging on someone's wall. The version I have was not in very good shape. I did a lot of retouching in Photoshop. Notice there is another couple near the bottom. That picture was in front of the picture hanging on the wall as my snapshot version was taken. I don't know who the smaller couple is. If anyone has a more original version of this I will clean it up for them. George was born in Georga, Amanda was born in Virginia. I don't have birth dates.

They have a daughter named Sarah Emiline Gray who was born December 15, 1868, and died March 28, 1942.

Nancy Kleeman Do you know anything more about this couple, other than what you stated? I have been looking for relatives of R.J. Gray and Mary Gray. They were from VA, but I have come to a dead end in trying to locate them after 1920. Thanks, Nancy Kleeman

Gary Wisser Their daughter Sarah Emiline Gray married Jonathan A. Bryant. In the 1920 Willis, Marshall County, Oklahoma census (head Jonathan A. Bryant) Sara listed her parents birthplaces as Georgia, for her father and Virginia for her mother. That's about all the information I have on them at this moment.

Julaine Haraden Morley On this website, your George Washington Gray has become attached to my great-grandfather by the same name and born in the same year. But my ancestor was born in Michigan and lived variously in South Dakota, Minnesota, Saskatchewan, and Washington. I'm wondering how to separate these records.

Kathy Pinna Julaine - you did the correct thing in writing [contact link]. A separate record has been created for the person in this photo and your relative has been detached.
