Katrina Hargus Judging from the cut of this garment and the jewelry, as well as the professional sitting, I would say that this woman is rather well off. The pattern on the backdrop, the wide paisley with the stylized pineapple, and the cut of the bodice indicate to me this picture was most likely taken in the early to mid-1870's. The head piece is quite unusual, and may be traced to an Irish national garment.
