Photographer's name was John Albert Hawkins, though he went by "Albert" in the Ohio census records.
Albert was born June 10, 1853 in New York and died May 14, 1916 in Mansfield, Ohio. He worked as a photographer in Toledo, Lucas Co., Ohio between 1869-1876, and in Mansfield, Richland Co., Ohio from 1876-1894.
"J.A." was listed as a dancing instructor in Mansfield from about 1895 until his death. He married Mary Sophia Rickerson in Mansfield in 1876, and they had a daughter, Pearl Grace Hawkins, born January 12, 1878.
Photo by Hawkins is of a little boy, but his name was not noted.
