About John Kleaver, Jr.
Although commonly known as John Kleaver, Jr., John was not a true "Junior" insofar as his middle initial J stood for "Joyce," his mother's maiden name. Sometime after his birth in a flat on Tyler Street, his family would move to LaBeaume Street, just a few blocks away. After several years there, they would return to Tyler, this time across the street from their old flat and into their own home at 1121 Tyler. John would spend the bulk of his life at this address. The oldest of three children, John dearly loved his Irish mother and all things Irish. At the age of 33 years, he married (on June 7, 1947) Frances (nee Schauer) at her parish church (Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 3519 N. 14th St., St. Louis, MO 63107). A wonderful husband and provider to her and wise father to his only child Patrick, he worked as a title abstractor for a title insurance company. A deeply devout Roman Catholic, he gave very generously to the Church, and continued his charity in death by donating his body to St. Louis University School of Medicine, Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology. His body was later cremated and interred in the plot reserved for such donors. ...more about John Kleaver, Jr.
