It talks about the hardships of living to be 100 years old, spending time as a prisoner of war in a Union Prison Camp at Rock Island, Illinois for 18 months, his commanding officers and then returning home to his wife and his children who grew up without knowing him and were scared of this strange man that had come into their home.
