Joseph Donaghy
Joseph Donaghy portrait b. dec 29 Antrim Ireland. He and his wife Nancy Donaghy emigrated from Antrim Ireland about 1835 and settled in Butler County Pa. They owned and operated the Old Stone House, stage coach stop and Inn, near Slippery Rock, Pa. It was the only stop between Allegheny County and Erie and was a pivotal abode. The Donaghy family had 12 children and often gave up their beds when they had guest and the entire family slept in tow upstairs rooms. The Old Stone House is now a historical place and is preserved and maintained by Slippery Rock University. They were a Christian family and bibles were throughout the home. The Donaghy family Bible was greatly detailed with births, deaths and marraiges. The information has been added to Ancestry.com.
