Laverne "Vern" Longmire was the son of George & Dora (Copus) Longmire. He was born in 1912 in the Soldiers Grove area of Crawford Co, WI. He married Essie Strahl, who was born in 1914 and died 02 May 1971. Vern died in 2003 and both are buried at Gays Mills Cemetery, Crawford Co, WI.
