These are my gr-gr-grandparents, Lewis Alderson Ashworth and Eliza Rice Ashworth. Their home is in the background at 2521 Prairie Avenue in Mattoon, Illinois. My grandmother wrote that the rich black mud turned into gumbo. Every summer my grandmother, Kathryn Neff traveled from Fayette Co. IN to this location with her parents, Charles and Sadie B.
