Sherry Westbrook Sanford People were proud of their horses back them because having them could be life or death. To carry you from place to place, plow your fields, hauling, and even selling them for money. These are just beautiful !
Paula H Moore I would say these two horses are related. The one on the woman's right is much older and look at that crippled front leg. Both very large boned so probably imported from overseas too. Great pic. Thanks for sharing
Marci Sudlow I have as well. It was the name I had picked out for a daughter before I decided not to have children, so I named my dog Mabel! It is from the French "Ma Belle" meaning my beautiful one. Nice name that you seldom hear anymore.
Audrey Silvers Denning Busike I remember doing this with our two geldings when I was a teen. I had stopped to open the gate, each one stopped with me landing their inside hoof on my outside foot, and I was stranded. Being the introverted person I was, I did not call out for help, but kept rocking back and forth enough until finally knocking one off balance so it stepped off my foot. Then it was a matter of pushing the other one off balance util it stepped off my other foot. It had occurred to me that they both were aware of my predicament and were enjoying it.
