Mary Washington Bolton Chesterman and son Lynn
Mary Washington Bolton Chesterman (c.1855 - c.1924) holding her first-born son, Roscoe Lynn Chesterman (1873 - 1947). Lynn was named for his great uncle Roscoe D. Jenkins, a newspaper man. Lynn Chesterman owned livery stables in Richmond and practiced as a veterinary surgeon in Richmond and Goochland County. Dr.Chesterman never married and left his 350 acre farm in Goochland to the ASPCA for the care of his animals;the ASPCA euthenized his animals and sold his land to two golf clubs.
