Mrs. Wayne with baby Jeanette
This is a photo postcard sent to Miss Florence Witt of Simley or Limley, Shans.? It is postmarked July 23rd, 1914, at 1:30 pm, from Newton, Kansas.

Apparently Mrs. Wayne used to employ Miss Witt as the first line of the message reads "Thought maybe you like to see your old boss...." It continues "so will send the baby along to keep you company. Don't like the baby picture but think ...handsome. Will send your mother a different one so when your home you can see how she looks. Is a very nice baby bit something like Sally was at .... With love, Mrs. Wayne." If I can decipher more I will post it, and if these names are of importance to you, email for a scan of the back. In later handwriting, the picture is labelled Mrs Wayne and Jeanette. I guess Florence Witt kept the picture a long time! I have posted another picture that was sent to a Witt also.

No photographer is identified. I purchased this in a huge lot of photos from Ebay. They have no traceable history as the seller got them from someone who checks the dumpsters behind estate sales around several states in the midwest! I can only list what is on the individual photos themselves as they all came from different places. That's why I'm posting as many photos as I can, so any more of their history isn't lost. I would be interested to know if they help any family researchers though.
Date & Place: in Newton, Kansas

I collect (for personal interest and love, not profit) old photos, firstly of families, especially large families, and secondarily of children, groups of siblings, etc. I am also very interested in family histories. I want to share some of the pictures that I have that have names to them, in the hopes they might fill in some missing pieces for unknown family researchers.
