Palmer Hotel, South Australia c1872
At the Palmer Hotel, South Australia, circa 1872, possibly Franz BEVILAQUA (2nd from left) with L-R Carl Friedrich SCHUETZE, Edward Henry DEANE & Hermann Theodore Friedric OPPATT

L-R: (1) Carl Friedrich SCHUETZE - Hotel Keeper at Palmer, South Australia.
(2) NEXT GENTLEMAN IS UNKNOWN...
(3) Herman Theodore Friedrich OPPATT - storekeeper at Palmer
(4) Edward Henry DEANE, member of the South Australian Mounted Police
Photograph was taken at The Palmer Hotel c1872
???..The occasion is not known...???

There is just a slight possibility the unknown chap might happen to be Franz Max Heinrich BEVILAQUA, formerly of Palmer and Blumberg, storekeeper, also of Reedy Creek, mining agent. Also - Trustee Septimus Verinder Pizey, of King William Street, Adelaide, Land agent.

If anyone has a photo of Mr BEVILAQUA it would help with this mystery.

ANYONE WHO KNOWS ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT THE PEOPLE IN THIS PHOTO OR HAVE ANY INFORMATION AT ALL WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.....

To determine if the chap 2nd from left (seated, with cigarette in right hand) is -
Franz Max Heinrich BEVILAQUA
And if not, who he is.

Also, to clarify/verify the place photo was taken.
Also to determine what was being celebrated.
People in photo include: Carl Friedrich Schuetze, Edward Henry Deane, and Hermann Theodore Friedric Oppatt
Date & Place: at Palmer Hotel in Palmer near Mannum, South Australia Australia

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth. So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her. For more information about what we're building see About AncientFaces. My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
