Avid science fiction fan. Treasured memories of working during his Airforce service with the space capsule recovery efforts after splashdown. Raymond spent some time in Japan during his service and developed a love for Asian cuisine. Upon returning to Ste Francois County, Missouri afterwards, He formed a close relationship with a Chinese restaurant owner's son and spent many hours learning how to cook wonderful dishes that he would share with friends and family. Raymond was always tinkering with new technology and also was an avid Ham radio operator. Raymond met Jane Snead at Mineral Area College in 1970 and married. He has three children: Amanda, Eric, and Davonna. It was a life-long dream of his to move to Alaska and he accomplished this in 1990. It was also a dream to become a published author, and he accomplished this shortly before his death. His story "What do you do with a black hole in your pocket...or where was momma when the kitchen went away" was published in an international anthology of science fiction that was broadly translated. Raymond was a big jolly man who loved puns and teasing his friends, wife, and children. He was loved. :-)
