Picture is of Rev. Jame C. Bass b. Jan 24, 1832? in Chatham County N.C. He led a notable career as a traveling preacher. He preached until the time of his death.
His first wife was Dorothy L. Morgan m. Chatham County in 1865. He was a civil war veteran serving in the Confederate Forces in S.C. 3rdregiment Company K. He is burried in Monte Vista Cemetery in Johnson City, TN.beside his grandson Carmon White who was killed at a young age by a school bus.He was also the first preacher of the Lone Oak Christian Church in Johnson City, TN. Write a comment...It's been a long time since I've posted on this site. Unfortunately I don't know a lot about the Morgans. There was an internet feud going on several years ago about Charles Morgan from Chatham County NC, father of James' wife. If you have any information that can help me with the parentage of James I would appreciate it very much. I've all but given up.

Elizabeth Bass married Jacob Gupton father of Nancy that married Calvin Morgan in Tn.
Elizabeth and Jacob were married in 1805 in Franklin Cty, NC
