The Coughlin family boarded Lusitania as 3rd class. During the disaster, John Coughlin got his wife and 3 children in a lifeboat. But Katherine Coughlin (wife) got off the lifeboat with her 3 children. During the sinking Katherine and Margaret (3 years) were last seen clinging to the stern waiting for the end. Katherine and her two children (John Jr 4, Bernie 15 months) survived the sinking. John and Margaret ended up lost. Margaret's body was recovered and buried in Old Church cemetery in Cobh, Ireland. ... show more
