Salvador Felipe Jacinto Dali I Domenech was born on May 11, 1904 in Figueres, Spain and is best known as a prominent surrealist painter. Salvador Dali attended the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid. At 24 years old, he gained international attention from the Carnegie International Exhibition in Pittsburgh in 1928. The Surrealist painter is best known for his piece, "The Persistence of Memory".

Salvador Dali died on January 23, 1989 from heart failure with respiratory complication. ... show more
