My father enlisted in the US Army on 28 December, 1939 and received his training at Camp Crowder, MO before being shipped overseas. He was in France, Belgium & Germany participating in the Ardennes Campaign (Battle of the Bulge)and the Rhineland Campaign. He was mustered out of the Army in October 1945 returning home to Wisconsin
