NEW YORK FOR A TIME THEN PASSED IN PENSACOLA, FLORIDA. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF ROBERT T. KYLE, THE CHIEF BRIDGE TENDER OF THE SEVEN MILE BRIDGE IN THE FLORIDA KEYS AND LIVED IN THE CHIEF BRIDGE TENDER HOME ON PIGEON KEY SPENDING SUMMERS IN NARANJA, FLORIDA. WHERE SHE ATTENDED REDLAND SCHOOL. HER SIBLINGS WERE: ZOLLIE, KATHERINE, KENNETH (KATHERINE & KEN WERE TWINS), ROBERT, AND ANNIE. SHE HAD A SON, ROBERT, OF E. MARION, NY. SHE RESTS IN BAYVIEW MEMORIAL PARK, PENSACOLA, FLORIDA AS TESSIE FRENTZEL, SEE 'FIND A GRAVE'. THE PHOTO WAS TAKEN IN 1928 ON PIGEON KEY.

TESSIE KYLE GREW UP ON PIGEON KEY, FLORIDA, A FIVE ACRE PLOT OF LAND, AN ISLAND, AND LATER TAUGHT SCHOOL IN 1928 ON KEY VACA, MARATHON, JUST NORTH OF PIGEON KEY.

THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN ON PIGEON KEY IN 1923 AND INCLUDED THREE OF THE KYLE CHILDREN, SIBLINGS OF OLDER SISTER, TESSIE KYLE. LITTLE PIGEON KEY IS A FIVE ACRE KEY, ISLAND, JUST DOWN FROM KNIGHTS KEY AND MARATHON. SCHOOL WAS ONLY IN SESSION FOR FOUR MONTHS OF THE YEAR. THE ISLAND HAD NO CONNECTION TO THE OTHER KEYS UNTIL THE FLORIDA EAST COAST RAILWAY TRACK WAS COMPLETED IN 1912. A HURRICANE, THE MOST SEVERE EVER IN U.S. HISTORY, OCCURRED LABOR DAY WEEKEND IN 1935 ON 2 SEPTEMBER DESTROYING THE RAIL LINE. THE EXISTING RIGHT OF WAY WAS PURCHASED BY THE STATE OF FLORIDA AND CONVERTED INTO A ROAD WHICH HELPED TO GENERATE MORE TRAVEL TO ALL OF THE KEYS.

Katherine Kyle was a twin to Kenneth Kyle. The young Katherine was brought to Pigeon Key, Florida, a small five acre island just down from Marathon. The siblings grew up there with their brothers Zollie and Robert and sisters Tessie and Annie living in the Chief Bridge Tender home until around 1928.
