John J. Toth, 93, of Santa Monica Drive in Granger, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 13d, 2005, in Hospice House, South Bend, Indiana.
Mr. Toth was born on September 13, 2005, in Hungary, to John and Verona (Egri) Toth. He retired from the former Bendix Corporation as a supervisor.
On May 24, 1941, John married Virginia M. Linkees, who survives. Surviving with his wife of 64 years are nieces and nephews, Martha McLoed, Joan Nowaczynski, Carl, Bruce and Nick Carrico, Patricia Toth, Diane Fink, and Susan Bailey.
A brother, Nicholas, and his wife, Betty Toth, and a sister, Ann Carrico, preced him in death.
Mr. Toth was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, the Bendix Salaried Retirees Club, and was a lifetime D.A.V. member. He served in the Army as a combat engineer during WW II. Mr. Toth was a former member of St. Stephen Catholic Clhurch in South Bend where he served as past president of the parish council, was an usher and very active in the parish.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 PM today, September, 15, 2005, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, where a parish Rosary will be at 5 P. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Friday September 16, 2005, in St. Pius X Catholic Church, where friends may call one hour prior to the Mass in the church. Burial will follow at st. Joseph ValleyMemorial Park, Granger, Indiana.
