The Sheeks House In Its Original Location
This is how the Sheeks House looked before it was moved to the Spring Mill State Park. Albert J. Fields, who arranged for the house to be moved to the park for preservation, is standing in the doorway. It was dismantled carefully with each piece marked, and then reassembled at the park where it is on display along with other pioneer houses and shops, etc. A plaque in the house today says: "This structure is perhaps one of the oldest log residences in Indiana."
Date & Place: at Lick Creek in what is now in Mitchell, Lawrence County, Indiana
