Æthelred The Unready - King of England
Æthelred the Unready, or Æthelred II was born in 968 and died April 23rd, 1016. Æthelred was king of England during two time periods: 978–1013 and 1014–1016. Son of King Edgar and Queen Ælfthryth, Æthelred himself is not to blame for the nickname 'The Unready'. It is largely believed that it was due to the council of those around him that he failed largely as King.
