Thomas West Dickey
Birth: Feb. 12, 1832
Death: Jul. 2, 1915

Thomas West Dickey was born in Rabun County Georgia to Joshua Taylor & Lucinda (Queen) Dickey. Lucinda died shortly after giving birth. Thomas was raised by grandparents, George & Hannah (Taylor) Dickey in Rutherford Cty. NC. He Married Anna Eliza Vernon 8/9/1849 Walker Cty. Georgia. Was a Deacon @ Lookout Baptist Church in Walker Cty. He was a school teacher in Walker County. The family owned a beautiful colonial nome that was burned during the war.
Thomas moved to Wayne Cty. IL with his family and several other families in 7/20/1864, due to Union sympathies. Thomas became the Baptist minister of Arrington Baptist Church. He raised five children, John L., Joshua T., Josiah V., Lucinda B.,& Mary Jane. Anna Elza died 9/17/1895....Thomas remarried to Lydia Dickey 11/19/1899. Thomas died 7/2/1915 and is buried with numerous relations in Dickey Cemetery next to Arrington Baptist Church, Wayne County IL.
