Twins - Esther E. and Henning J. Martin

Esther was single and had a twin brother, Henning J. Martin, who was married and lived in New York. Henning passed away in Oneonta, New York, on December 17th, 1992, just twelve days after Esther. Esther was like a god-mother to my husband who grew up in Selah, WA in the '60s and 70's, teaching him Bible verses and baking him rice pudding. Binghamton, NY Press reports Henning served in Herkimer and at Bridgehampton as superintendent of schools from 1940-1956. In 1958 he became Administrative Assistant for Business of the Consolidated School District of Greater Oneonta. Re resigned in 1964 due to "poor health". He did continue on as part-time tax collector. He is also a past master of Herkimer Lodge F&AM (per Utica NY Daily Press 1964). He was a member of Kiwanis in Herkimer, serving as treasurer for the Mohawk Valley.
