Władysław Teodor Benda Mask
Władysław Teodor "W.T." Benda was a famous mask maker (and artist) in the early 20th century. He was born in Poland but he came to California to visit an aunt and decided to stay in the U.S. He moved to New York and studied art. He was so good at making masks (for theatrical productions and other venues) that any life-like mask became known as a "Benda" mask.
