Taken in Rockfield, Carroll County, IN.
William Black Ray standing out front of the Post Office where he worked as Postmaster.
Erin O'Keefe I know as a woman things are better today, but I look at these photos and sometimes think I belonged in those times. They seem so meaningful and simple. But, hindsight is 20/20.
Valenchia Sundin Hershberger It's still the most exciting part of my day. It's like Christmas because I never know what I'm going to find in there. Catalogs, magazines, samples, things I've ordered, free books I've won, possibly a letter from an aunt or cousin I've written to. It's wonderful!
Rose Gasak I still look forward to seeing the postman, you never know maybe a greeting card came
Ginger Keck Lueder This is my Great Grandmother, Bessie in the Post Office that she run in her small hometown in Oklahoma until her death in 1964. It had a small room in the back, with kitchenette so she could have lunch and had an outhouse until the 50's. The whole town would stop by an visit with Bessie for all the lastest news and pick up their mail.
