Does anyone have information about this photo?

The Mystery

I found this photo and a few more in an automobile that was junked for scrap. Does anyone know anything about the Modern Men's Social Club or Willie Smalls? I believe he played the horn with various bands.

There was a "Willie Smalls of New Haven, Connecticut" according to this site: http://www.theblackgospelblog.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

On further research, there was a group called "Willie Smalls and the Willie Smalls Singers" cited as an inspiration to this man http://pastorchrisedwards.com/Pastor_Chris_Edwards/About_Pastor_Chris_Edwards.html.
